I’ve been specialising in brand photography for the past two years I’ve done weddings, events and a handful of other things but my one true love is brand photography.

When I first discovered brand photography it was mainly talked about by a lot of creatives that I follow in the USA, Australia and Canada. There were a handful of photographers offering brand photography here in the UK but mainly alongside other genres.

In recent times more photographers are choosing to offer brand photography and more businesses are seeing the benefits.

I get asked so many questions about what is and who is it for, so this month I thought I would answer all of your burning questions!

What is brand photography?

The clue is in the name, It’s a collection of on-brand images that represent you and your brand. No generic stock images or formal headshots insight. The images are created to help you tell your story, connect with the audience, stand out from your competition and look professional.

The images are carefully designed to show you in your business and outside of your business as well as some images you can use for social media and your blog.

The images help you look professional and be consistent with your content which overall builds trust with your audience. You will hear time and time again people buy from people and people need to know like and trust you before they will buy from you brand photography allows you do that.

Who is brand photography for?

If you own your own business and want to be seen as professional when attracting your dream clients, then brand photography is for you.

If you want to stand out from your competition and be known for what you do, then brand photography is for you.

What makes it different to headshots?

You may change it every now and again but its usually one image that represents you and maybe the first image your audience sees when they first engage with you.

It’s like the front cover of your book.

Brand photography is your full story, it shows you, who you are, what you do, how you do it, where you do it etc.

I also like to think of it as your headshot is your 60 second pitch at a networking event and your brand photography is welcoming everyone in the event to learn so much more about you than in your 60 seconds.

Brand photography is also more creative, during our journey of working together I don’t just show up on the day with my camera, I spend so much time learning about you and your brand so we make the most out of your photoshoot and design your images so you can use them for a wide range of purposes.

What are the benefits of brand photography?

I’ve mentioned a few already, there are so many amazing benefits to brand photography but here are my top 5:

  1. It saves you time: You don’t have to search for hours for stock images to try and fit them into your brand and marketing or try 10 times to get the perfect selfie so you can share your face on your Instagram feed. It allows you to have a bank of on-brand images at your fingertips
  2. It increases your visibility: More and more we hear people telling us to show our faces in our marketing better its true brand photography allows you to do just that it shows you, your business, what you do, how you do it and everything in-between. It also means by sharing your own images the algorithm on most social media sites including Facebook and Instagram will favour your content over those sharing stock photography. Meaning visibility and engagement.
  3. It helps you stand out from your competition: Just like the last one if your showing more of yourself you’re more likely to noticed and if your competition isn’t doing that then it’s even more of a win. It also means you will look more professional and feel more professional within your brand.
  4. It helps you to build trust: You probably didn’t marry your husband or wife without seeing them first yet you expect your ideal clients to buy from you without knowing you, liking you and trusting you first. It’s the same story. Share more images of you, your story and your brand and they will fall in love with you.
  5. It makes you money: “First comes love, then comes marriage then comes a baby in a golden carriage” Does anyone remember that school rhyme? Just me? My point is that once you build your trust with your audience and ideal clients you are then more likely to get leads and sales so having brand photography pays for its self in the long run.

What to expect with one of my brand photoshoots?

As soon as you book in we begin work straight away! You will receive a welcome pack and workbook so that we can begin to design your perfect brand shoot.

We will also book a time to have your strategy call which is one hour of planning and designing your photoshoot using the information from your workbook.

You then should have some time to prepare and have everything organised including your times and date for your brand photoshoot.

Lady packing boxesOn the day, is about having fun, enjoying your experience and getting the best results from your photoshoot.

Once your photo shoot is complete you might have some extra parts of your workbook left to complete. While your working on your workbook I will be editing your beautiful new images.

The final step for my 3 hour and yearly package clients is to design and create your digital assets. Using some of your images I will be giving you a content calendar and other resources using the images so you aren’t left with a collection of beautiful images and no idea of how to use them in your marketing.

How do you book?

To book your Brand Photoshoot we will first schedule a discovery call its around 30 minutes over zoom and a cuppa. It’s a chance for me to learn more about you and your brand and for you to get to know me and asking any further burning questions about brand photography.

If you’re happy, you can pay your deposit and secure a date for your photoshoot it’s then gone, go, go from there as we plan and design your photoshoot perfectly to ensure no detail is missed.
